Bruning GreenThe Bruning Green triangle at Bruning, Evans and 52nd Street was developed into public greenspace, having been developed by the NNA and the North Loop Neighborhood Planning Team. It is a welcome spot of urban greenspace in a neighborhood where such space is scarce, and it is enjoyed daily by neighbors walking with their families and dogs. In 2008, the Green was improved with a concrete sidewalk and curbing, and a team of neighborhood volunteers constructed an embedded mosaic reflecting elements of the neighborhood. The big feature is the limestone block seating walls along the path. Many thanks to all the volunteers who make the green possible by donating time, equipment, tools, labor and or food and moral support. If you would like to volunteer for a workday or would like more information about the green contact Cindy Black (Keeper of the Green) for more information. Below are captioned pictures of past and present Bruning Green courtesy of Cindy, as well as Cindy's Flickr feed. For more Bruning Green pictures, visit Bobby's photo album.
