National Night Out, August 2007***Thanks for helping to make this year's NNO a success!***
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT: Tuesday, August 7, 200724 years ago, National Night Out (NNO) started with 'lights on' and front porch vigils as a crime and drug prevention event. Since then, it has become a way for neighborhoods to promote camaraderie, police-community partnerships, and crime prevention programs. It has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable evening that promotes neighborhood spirit and police-neighborhood relations in the fight for a safer nation.o NNO strengthens our neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. o NNO sends a message to criminals that our neighborhood is organized and able to fight back. Of course, one hopes the benefits that our neighborhood derives from NNO extend beyond the one night. That it represents the kind of spirit, energy and determination that can make our neighborhood a safer place throughout the year.
