Introductions were made of all neighbors present. TREASURER'S REPORT: Annie Ervin, Treasurer Current balance $1314.51. Activity for the past two months includes $620 in income from newsletter ads and memberships and $968.72 in newsletter and envelope printing, and signs. DUPLEX ON 54TH AND DUVAL. Jody discussed progress on making sure that this duplex is not being rented to more people than allowed by SF3 zoning rules. Thanks to a neighbor's vigilance, the owner has admitted to the city to adding bedrooms without a permit and leasing to 12 unrelated individuals. The building is up for lease as 3 bedrooms per side and is also for sale again. Jody is following up and will keep us posted on any more developments. After some discussion, it was agreed that we could provide information on the web site to help neighbors who are concerned about over-occupancy. If letters from the neighborhood are required, the president is designated as the spokesperson for the association and should send the letters. Lisa Wright will follow up with the webmaster on getting that information posted. This information has also been posted in recent newsletters. Jody will see whether we can get the building inspector for this area to do a presentation at an upcoming meeting. UPDATE ABOUT THE NORTHLOOP NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNING TEAM (NLNPT) http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nlnpt/ FROM PATRICK GOETZ, CURRENT PRESIDENT. NLNPT covers the Ridgetop and Northfield neighborhoods. Patrick spoke about the upcoming work on updating the neighborhood plan to deal with current issues like steering development to help with anticipated density pressures, creating a walkable neighborhood, different zoning options, a lack of park space, and more. The plan probably can't address problems with alleys (question raised), but a couple of neighbors will write a letter to the city about that issue. People can get involved in the planning team by attending the quarterly meetings. The next meeting is Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Ridgetop Baptist Church, 781 E 51st St. TRAFFIC CALMING ON LERALYNN. Michael Tirres is working with Patrick to write a letter to the city to ask for help implementing traffic calming measures on this street, which is getting a lot of cut-through traffic from the state office building. Turning it into a one-way street may be a low-cost solution. REPORT ON KOENIG SIDEWALK COMPLETION, AUSTIN NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL (http://www.ancweb.org/ ) FROM SCOTT JOHNSON. Capital Metro and the City are working on issues around the uncompleted sidewalk on 2222. Hot weather is bringing issues with the sealcoat that the city uses on streets. Potential changes to design standards ordinance are in the works. There is also a task force working on the noise ordinance. CHILDREN'S PARK AT 55 1/2. Thanks to Brenda for mowing! We need someone to finish the last 25%. Mulch has been donated and needs to be spread out. Jody is going to ask the planning team for money for a fence. DUMPSTERS. Clay is still working on the Dumpster issue. PRESENTATION ON PROPOSAL TO OPEN PUB. Pam Pritchard is proposing to open a pub in the unoccupied 1/3 of 100 W North Loop and wanted to get input from the neighborhood association on whether they would support the idea. She presented a plan, explained the zoning issue, and showed pictures to illustrate the style she is planning. A zoning change from GR-Co to CS-1 is required. She is happy to talk to anyone who has questions. E-mail the officers for contact information. The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 PM. Next meeting Monday July 7, 2008 at 7 PM
